Hello

Hi everyone! Saw the tic-tac-toe challenge over at The Paper Players and immediately was inspired by the yellow, sequins and polka dots. Here's what I came up with.

Die's are from My Favorite Things blueprints #14.

I cut the flower out of some sparkle yellow paper and added the polka dots using the polka dot basic's stamp set from PTI. There is sparkle in real life but didn't photograph all that well.

The hello stamp is from Simon Says Stamp set called hello baby. Yes, I did a little snip snip to the stamp to just get the "hello" part because I liked the font.

I colored the ribbon on the button with a Copic marker (not liking the color now) and popped the flower up using foam tape.

Sequins are from my stash and I used some glossy accents to stick them on.

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Sending my sympathies

Hello everyone! Here is my last minute Freshly Made Sketch entry.

I had colored this one up already and it was sitting on my desk waiting to be finished into a card.

Stamp is from Technique Tuesday and is stamped using MFT hybrid ink onto X-press blending cardstock, then colored with Copic's.

Sentiment is from the Papertrey, Ink set called banner sentiments. Pink paper is also from PTI.

Light pink self adhesive pearls are from Micheal's that I picked up in the dollar bin.

That's it for now. Today is my DH's birthday and he is bummed out big time because he is now officially a senior citizen. Where did the time go? It seems like just yesterday that we were in our mid-twenties and full of it. Well, we are off to enjoy his birthday dinner out. Thanks for stopping by!

Super girl

Hello everyone! I'm away on a business trip and scheduling this to post while I'm gone. This is actually me right now with everything that I'm doing for work! LOL!!

Stamps are from My Favorite Things and so are the dies that go with it. I did a lot of coloring on this card using my Copic's.

Super girl is popped up using foam tape so that she sticks out a bit from the city skyline.

Next time I probably won't color the cartoonish thought balloons (or whatever you call them) and just use colored cardstock. I don't like how uneven the color came out.

I used some of the new Stickit! from Ken Oliver when die cutting her mask. It made it so much easier to just peel off the backing and tape it down using that wonderful stuff!

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!

Oh Baby

Hey everyone! Darnell over at djkardkreations is doing another NBUS challenge. This fits in with the following card I just made for a coworker.

The "never-before-used-schtuff" is the baby bottle die. It's from the Niche line from My Minds Eye called Oh Baby.

This card is for twin boys that were just born. That is why there are only two safety pin brads as embellishments. It was really hard to keep it at two and not add another one. LOL! Designer paper is from my stash and it's cut with the stitched die from Lil' Inkers Designs.

The congratulations sentiment is from the PTI set Bundle of Love that I doctored to fit into the area of the baby bottle. The rest of the sentiment says "on your special delivery" that I stamped on the inside. So, yes I took a pair of scissors to that stamp.

I kept this card pretty clean and simple because the coworker is a guy and it is for twin boys!
Thanks for stopping by!

Pink cupcake

Hi everyone! Here is my take on this week's Freshly Made Sketch which I also paired with The Card Concept #31 challenge.

Cupcake stamp and die is from Verve. I colored it with Copic's and then added some cotton candy stickles to jazz it up a bit. It's also popped up using foam tape. I hardly ever use my stickles, and it finally dawned on my why. I don't have any patience to let them dry.

The circle and banner die is from My Favorite Things, which is now discontinued, I believe. Sentiment is from Tim Holtz.

The pink designer paper is from Lasting Memories. I added the perforated holes down both sides of the white cardstock to give this a bit more dimension. However, decided to keep this one clean and simple and stopped there!

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by.

Happy St Patrick's day

Hi all! Happy St. Patrick's Day. Here's a card to celebrate the day!

This is an old set from former Angel Company. I stamped him in Versafine, heat embossed with clear embossing powder then colored with Copic's.

MFT fishtail banner used to cut out the green cardstock and then I ran it through a flower embossing folder that closely matched the four leaf clover. Grey polka dot cardstock is from PTI. Lastly, added some tiny green self adhesive pearls for extra dimension and interest.

Have a great day and if celebrating with green beer, go easy on the blarney!

Tulip Birthday wishes

Hello all! Here's a card I put together for The Paper Players challenge of creating a clean simple floral design.

Stamps are from My Favorite Things. I stamped the tulips
in MFT black hybrid ink then colored them with Copic's. Added the birthday sentiment and finished off with adding three different sizes of candy dots from Doodlebug.

Black and white cardstick is from PTI.

This turned out extremely clean and simple but I think very classy looking. Thanks for stopping by and I'd really like to hear what you think of this! Have a great day!

Doggone good day

Hey everyone! It's one layer time over at Less is More and the challenge this time around is to include an animal into the mix.

Stamps are from Close to my heart and I'm not even sure they are still available. I colored the dog using prismacolor pencils and blended it with Gamsol. I haven't played with this technique in many moons, so it was fun to get the pencils out and play a bit.

It's raining cats and dogs outside so it's a good day to stay indoors and stamp. But I also have a ton of chores to get done! Yuk! thanks for stopping by!

ETA: Adding this to AAA cards, Game #35 bare naked

Hello tag

Hi everyone! The challenge over at Tag you're it! is pretty cool this week and I decided to give it a whirl.

To create the marbled effect on the white cardstock, I took distress inks in spun sugar and victorian velvet and applied them to my craft sheet. Next I applied some rubbing alcohol and let them blend together a bit then smooched the cardstock into it. I let it dry then cut out the tag. I also distressed the edges with more victorian velvet so that it would stand out a bit.

Flowers are punched out using a light yellow and white cardstock. Leaves are also done using a punch. The hello sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Seam binding is tied onto the top of the tag.

Off to try a new restaurant for lunch. I've been seeing awesome reviews on FB for it so I thought I see what all the talk is about. Might have to hit Ben Franklin while I'm out. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Anniversary

Hi everyone! I found myself wanting to make a clean and simple card today and went with the sketch over at Clean and simple stamping. You can see it here.

Flowers and dies are from Avery Elle. Sentiment is from Winnie & Walter. The houndstooth background stamp is from My Favorite Things. Fresh ink in limeade used on it and MFT colorbox colors in gumdrop green and wild cherry used on the flowers and leaves.  Copic marker in G43 used on the white satin ribbon.

It's bright and festive in real life and I really like how this turned out! Thanks for stopping by!

Get well soon

Hey everyone! Played around with this weeks Fusion Challenge and got a bit frustrated. I struggled with finding the right flower stamp to use with this. Everything I tried, I didn't like! Ended up with this!

Flower stamp is from Simon Says Stamp. I used fresh ink in french lavender to stamp the solid flower and black to do the outline. Then I got out the liquid pearls and dabbed some lemon yellow on for the centers.

Sentiment is from Avery Elle. I cut out the dotted banner then stamped the sentiment. It's popped up using foam tape. The white grid/mesh over the lavender cardstock is a die from Cherry Lynn Designs. That die makes great confetti too!

Dragonfly die is from Memory box. I cut the body out of black cardstock and the wings out of vellum. Added some Wink of Stella in clear to get them to appear gossamer. Love how they turned out. Now I get to add this card to the Wednesday challenge over at SSS which is Things that Fly.

Thanks for stopping in!

Thinking of you

Hi everyone! Here is a card I did a while ago that I've had sitting in my card file to share. It so happens to fit into the Thinking of you challenge over at the card concept.

This is a clean and simple one layer card that I made in no time just playing around with a new stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called friendly flowers.

I used Chamomile and limeade fresh ink to stamp the flowers and leaves with.  Sentiment is stamped using Versafine ink.

I put this against a black background to take the picture as the white I usually use just washed this right out with all the soft colors.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by and I'd like to hear what you think of this one!

ETA: I'm also entering this into the Less is More color challenge of yellow and green, which I forgot about.
