PTI Blog Hop - Sweet Spring

Hi everyone! I decided to get out my daffodil year of flowers set from Papertrey, Ink and participate in this month's "Sweet Spring" blog hop.

I really favor the daffodils that have the bright orange centers instead of the all yellow ones. So, that is where my inspiration came from when coloring this. Copic's used were: Y00, Y15, Y17, Y38, G24, G28.

Pale yellow cardstock is from Bazzill and I ran it through the lattice embossing folder. I felt that I needed some texture since I couldn't find any designer paper that went with the yellows in the daffodil. The big fishtail banner is from MFT, and it and the sentiment panel are layered in Harvest Gold cardstock from PTI. Since the flower is so darn big, I decided to do a bit of fussy cutting and then popped it up using foam tape.

After I got this all put together, I decided to stamp and color a daffodil bud for the inside of the card. I really like how it turned out.

Can you believe that there isn't any bling or ribbon on this card? Thought it looked better being semi CAS. Thanks for stopping by!

Anniversary wishes

Greetings everyone! Here is my entry for three challenges today.

The sketch is from Clean and Simple #281. Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge was for your project to be wedding/anniversary based and Less is more was all about using Metal.

Designer paper is from K&Company. I cut out the flowers using the flower die from Spellbinders. Then I sponged some lavender ink from Colorbox all over the edges. I added yellow metal brads for the center of the flower and then glued them down to the card.

Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink. and that wonderful blueberry cardstock is from Bazzill. Ivory satin ribbon from my stash used behind the sentiment panel.

At the last minute I decided to add some leaves using the leaf punch from MS crafts.

Hope you all had a great weekend and thanks for popping in!

For all you do

Hey everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #124.

I saw this sketch as a way to use up some of my designer paper! Gasp! This is from Authentique's 8 x 8 pack called Renew.

I sponged on some Wendy Vecchi archival ink in cornflower blue so that the yellow flower dp stood out a bit. The yellow strip is also distressed a bit around the edges with thatched straw from Versamagic.

Pastel candy dots from Reflections and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. Inside this it says "Thanks!"

This ended up being a 5 x 5 square card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo #333 - Where flowers bloom

Hi all! It's late Friday night and I'm now just getting around to playing with this weeks Mojo sketch. Better late than never?

Flower stamp is from A*Muse Studio and colored with Memento markers then huffed on. I added some black dot with a Multi liner pen to give it a bit of definition.

Sentiment is from Verve and that yummy pink, green and brown designer paper is from Memory Box.  Brown and pink cardstock is from Hot Off The Press.

I colored the satin ribbon using a copic that was close in color to the Memento marker. Turned out pretty close.

That's it for now - more tomorrow when I get to relax a bit and get inky! Thanks for stopping in.

Happy Anniversary

Hi everyone! Real quick post today to show case a card I did a couple of months ago.

The bucket and flower stem are stamps from Memory Box and colored using Copic markers. I added a dot to the center of each of the flowers using a white Sharpie paint pen.

The designer paper is from DCWV and I layered the main and sentiment panels with a gray cardstock from MFT.

Sentiment is from Gina K Designs (vertical greetings) and the wide satin ribbon is from my ribbon stash.

Busy day at work today! Hope you have a crafty day and thanks for stopping by!

Masculine birthday

Hi everyone! Here's my take on the masculine challenge over at Less is More. I really liked the card made by Chrissie and was inspired by it to make this.

I was originally searching and destroying my stamp collection looking for a different stamp when I stumbled upon this Sunday International cattail stamp. I used Memento markers to color on the stamp and then huffed on it to get a decent image the first time (which NEVER happens for me).

I got out the air compressor and airbrushed a piece of vellum to make the "water" for the pond. To create the ripples I used the cloud border die from Paper Smooches and just turned it up side down.

Dragonfly is a Memory Box die. Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

Off to do chores. Thanks for stopping by!

Wherever you go

Hi everyone! What an exciting day yesterday! The talented and very sweet Darnell over at Djkardkreations CASED one of my past cards and posted a whole story about it on her blog. Thanks Darnell, and if you haven't seen her work/blog hop on over and take a look here. If you are a new  new subscriber and/or follower, thank you as well!

OK, on to my card for today. I was a little intrigued by this weeks CAS-ual Friday's challenge.
The challenge was to create a  farewell card that is long and NOT a traditional A2 card.

So this is what I came up with. This ended up measuring 4 x 8.5 and will fit into a legal sized envelope.  Vintage cream cardstock used as the card base and the main panel. Stamps are from Flourishes. I stamped them in Versafine and then clear heat embossed them so that I could color with Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Just a note

Greetings! Here's my take on two challenges today. I used this weeks Freshly Made Sketch and then went Krafty with Simon Says Stamp. SSS is highlighting Memory Box products and I just happen to have a few of those!

Kraft and vintage cream cardstock is from PTI. I used the Pippi Butterfly die from Memory Box to cut out all the butterflies. Added some tiny pearls to the center to fancy them up!

The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday and the ivory ribbon is from my ever growing ribbon stash.

I kept the number of butterflies to six instead of eight so that I could get the ribbon element in that is included on the sketch.

That's it for today - thanks for stopping by!

Always in our hearts

Hi everyone!  Here is a real quick clean and simple sympathy card today.

I used Hero Arts Shadow ink in soft yellow to stamp the deckled blocks, which came from the former Angel Company.

The wild flowers are from Just for Fun stamps and I used Ranger Archival ink to stamp them and the sentiment.

Tied on a length of soft yellow satin ribbon and adhered it to a black card base. Easy Peasy!

Off to fix something to eat and rest up a bit after being worked over by the chiropractor. Dang, I'm sore! Thanks for stopping by!

LIM #158 Thanks

Hey everyone! Well, the snow finally made it's way up to Western Washington from Portland OR last night and we're sitting here with about 5 inches. Luckily it's warming up and rain is coming in so it'll be gone by tomorrow.

Needless to say that I had some time to do a quick clean and simple take on the One Layer Week #158 over at Less is More.

Stamps are from Simon Says Stamp. Flower is from their February monthly kit and the thanks is from the small thanks 3x4 stamp set.

I stamped the flower using Ranger Archival Ink from Wendy Vecchi in cornflower blue. It's a dark blue so I stamped it off once. I also used a few drops of the reinker to color the ribbon, which came out a little darker than I wanted.

I ended up using the Bow Easy to tie the bow and then glued it down in several places so it would lie how I wanted it.

Off to stamp some more as well as multi-task with some Cinderella chores. Thanks for stopping by!

FMS #122 - Hydrangea

Hey everyone! Here's my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #122!

The Hydrangea stamp is a very old one from the former Angel Company. I found it today after a search a destroy mission through all of my stamps. I was looking for a rose bud and never did find that particular stamp. So went with this one instead.

Colored with Copic's and I tried to give this bud the "real life" look. You know how they look as they are about to bud with the blue and yellow all mixed together? Well, I didn't blend the colors out too much on this to create that effect. It looks OK to me, but what do you think?

Sentiment from Verve. Blue pearls are from the dollar bin at M's. Yellow and dark navy cardstock are from Bazzill and the white is from PTI.  Added some texture to the white panel using the lattice embossing folder from Sizzix.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Welcome baby

Hi everyone! Here's a baby card I put together for a friend that was just blessed with a baby boy.

The stamps are from Papertrey, Ink and colored with Copic.

Ok, I have to admit that the grosgrain ribbon on the left hand side is hiding a ink smudge. I was so aggravated when I noticed it, but happily came up with an embellishment that worked to cover it.

Safety pin is a brad that I didn't know I had in my stash. Cardstock is from PTI.

I kept this CAS due to the fact that the couple receiving this card are just like that...clean and simple. Well, they won't be now with the addition of a baby boy that they named Noah.

Thanks for stopping by!
