Kraft Birthday

Hi all! I decided to whip up something for this weeks CAS(e) the sketch #43 and also incorporated CASual Friday's challenge into too.

Pretty much everything on this card is from Papertrey, Ink except the real black button and the hemp.

Both the birthday and button are dies from PTI. The long sentiment from the wonderful words birthday stamp set is repeatedly stamped in white craft ink on the kraft cardstock. I added a bit of sponging around it and the polka dot panel to add a bit of interest.

It was a real challenge to get that button and bow attached to the card - I still didn't get it to lay completely flat, but oh well!

Well off to shop for our camping trip! Thanks for stopping by!

Batty - FMS #101

Hi everyone! Here's my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #101.

Bat is a stamp from Paper Smooches and the sentiment is an old one from TAC.

I used N2,4 and 7 Copic markers to color his goofy self! This little guy just makes me giggle! My favorite things fishtail dies used to cut out banners and I decided to layer them in black so that they stood out a bit more! The black designer paper that the bat is on is from my stash of Halloween papers and I have no idea where it came from. However, I really like the colors in it and how it appears to be textured.

Branch die is from Memory Box.

Monster of a Birthday

Hi everyone! Here's a card I created that works really well with what today is! Ack! I'm turning the big five oh!

Stamps are from Paper Smooches and colored with Copic markers. I did add a few drops of glossy accents to his eyes to make the shine, but it really didn't pick up in the photo!

Designer paper is from Hot Off The Press. That is faux stitching around the dp and done with a multi liner pen and a ruler. Lime green cardstock is from Bazzill and the black and white is from PTI.

I'm off to pamper myself at the spa today! I think I deserve to be taken care of for this monster of a birthday! LOL! Thanks for stopping by!

PTI August Blog Hop - it's a celebration

Hi everyone!
This is the color combo and sketch I chose to do for this months blog hop.

I used all the colors except fine linen - which just didn't work with what I had in mind. I'm not too fond of that color anyways....

Got out the crimper and added a bit of texture to the strips. At the last minute I decided to add the flowers but I wanted a bit of texture to them as well. I have an old Angel Co. striped back ground stamp that I used with Versamark and clear embossing powder after cutting them out. Once they cooled down, I added color using Faber Castell Gelatos.

I stacked them on top of each other using foam tape and then added the button for the center. Everything on this card is from PTI, except for the green button which is from American Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate

Hi everyone! I was intrigued by this weeks CAS(e) the Sketch and it took two cards for me to like what I came up with! Ever do that? Me, too many times to count!

The star is a chipboard cut out that I've had in my stash for years. I covered it with some designer paper from Hot Off The Press and trimmed and sanded it out. The Fishtail banner die from MFT used to cut out the blue paper. The ribbon was colored with a Copic marker  - tried to match the blue in the dp, but settled for lighter rather than darker and tied it on!

I decided to speckle the stark white back ground with some blue paint just to be different. Like how it worked with the designer paper. The sentiment is from The Paper Studio.

With Gratitude - FMS1

Hi everyone! Congratulations to Freshly Made Sketches for achieving #100 sketches! They decided to go back to the beginning and feature the very first sketch and here is my take on it!

Sentiment stamp is from Verve and the designer paper is from an old paper pack from Making Memories! Blue flower is from Prima Flowers and I cut a few leaves out from a Memory Box leaf die.

I used the textile embossing folder on the tilted blue panel and lightly sanded it so that the white sort of showed through. I got a little happy with my distress tool tonight too!

Blue pearls are from Kaisercraft and the enhanced evening ribbon and the rustic cream card base is from PTI.

Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy

Hi everyone! I was playing around over the weekend and trying to come up with some sort of sketch to use with this adorable ice cream cone.

I finally ended up using the deconstructed sketch #114.  However, I turned it on its side.

Ice cream cone stamp is from Flourishes and colored with Copic markers. I decided to use a plaid embossing folder that sort of resembles the markings on the cone on a piece of kraft cardstock. I love how it turned out!

My favorite things fishtail die and circle nesties used to create the award ribbon. Sentiment is from The Paper Studio. Finally, all cardstock is from Papertrey, Ink.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

You're spot on

Hi everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #99.

Die and stamps are from ??? I just took them out of the package and put them into a clear DVD case and I forgot to write down what company they are from. I thought it was The Craft's Mewo, but I don't see it on their web site. ETA: The set is from Simon Says Stamps and the link is here. Thanks Tammy!!!

Anyway, I used Wild cherry ink from My Favorite Things to stamp the sentiment and the polka dot back ground. Love that ink - awesome coverage!

All cardstock is from Papertrey, Ink.

Well, back to stamping - it's a cloudy day outside so why not stay in and get creative? Thanks for stopping by!

Red mittens

Hi everyone!  Today's card is a very quick, clean and simple card using one of the new Memory Box Christmas dies!

I cut the mittens out using silver mirror paper first, then cut just the mittens out with red and white velvet paper. Then I just glued them all together and stuck it on a white card base. It's a dark picture so you might have to click on it to enlarge to see the detail on the die.

Sentiment is from A*Muse Studio and the card base is dark green cardstock from Bazzill.

Mojo #306 - with heartfelt sympathy

Hi all! This weeks sketch got my creative juices flowing! Here is what I ended up with after several back ground paper changes. It's a bit of a different color combo, specifically for a sympathy card but decided to go with it!

The little pink flower is shouting out pretty loudly there! I couldn't find anything that matched the designer paper so I ended up just going with it!

Designer paper is from Provo Craft a very old 12 x 12 pack called soft serenity. Bazzill green cardstock used for the layering and vintage cream cardstock used for the base of the card and the sentiment panel. Sentiment is from Verve.

Have your cake

and eat it too!

Here is my take on two challenges today. Freshly Made Sketches #98 and CASology - Dessert!

Cake and sentiment stamps are from Flourishes. I've had the piece of cake colored (with Copic's ) and sitting in my "to make into a card" pile for a couple of weeks. Glad I finally go to use it!

I made the roses with scrap paper and used a glue dot to adhere them to the card. Leaves are done using scrap paper as well and the Martha Stewart leaf punch. Border punch up top is from Fiskars.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday to you - CTS #40

Hi everyone! I really think this weeks sketch by CAS(e) this sketch has a lot of possibilities and decided to give it a whirl.

I reached deep into my bottom drawer and pulled out my green perfect pearls to create this green bush. The stamp is from Inkadinkado and is inked up in versamark and then dusted with the perfect pearls - which you cannot see in the picture! Sentiment is also from the same company, just a different set.  Green gingham ribbon tied around the panel and the little bow was created using the bow easy!

Well, back to stamping - thanks for stopping in!

Wishing you comfort

Hi everyone! I had to get lost in some ink tonight to relax after a very busy and stressful week, and it's only Wednesday!!!! Here's what I did with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch #305.

Sentiment is from Verve. I used Rustic cream cardstock from PTI and the blue green paper is from an old cardstock pack I've had forever from Colorbok. Designer paper is from Basic Grey.

Dragonfly die is from Memory Box and it's wings are cut from blue vellum. I did use the old flower embossing folder from Provo Craft on the very back panel but it kind of hidden behind the dp.

I'm also adding this to this weeks Flutter By challenge since it's an open any winged creature week. Which is great cuz I finally get to use a dragonfly!

Thanks for stopping by!

Pillow box

Hi everyone! I just purchased these really cute pillow boxes at Impress Rubber Stamps and thought I'd play around with one today.

Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

I cut the flower from the tatters floral die using a linen piece of fabric. I then cut the leaves using a die from Spellbinders. To get the leaves green I used distress stain in peeled paint and the added a bit of picket fence to it to get a lighter green.

Button is from American Crafts and the twine is from PTI.

Entering this into the following challenges:
A Passion for Papertrey - use three embellishments
Simon Says Stamp - Anything goes
The Paper Players - ABC

All things

All things are possible. Hi everyone! Here's my take on two challenges this week.

Designer paper is from Fancy Pants and called park bench. Stamps are from Verve (sentiment) and American Crafts. Studio G ink used on the leaf and flower and I also added a drop of liquid pearls to the center of the flower. Click on photo for a better view and to get rid of the blurriness!

I used a clear button and glued on some of the DP using glossy accents and tie a bow using scrappers floss.

It's very gloomy here today with rain in the forecast - it really hasn't rained in over 34 days so we desperately need it! Hence the darkness of my picture.  Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday fishes

Hi everyone! what a week it's been! Here's a card I did last weekend playing around with some new stamps from Paper Smooches. This is from the set Birthday Buddies.

Please click on the picture to see this better!!! I must come up with a better way to take pictures of my cards!

I used the borders 1 die (also from Paper Smooches) to create the waves and then I highlighted them with a bit of white pigment ink.

Fish is colored with Copic's and cut out using a circle nestie. I decided to use the dot technique with the Copic's around the fish - I've never done this since I haven't been a real big fan of the look. I think I've changed my mind, however it has to be very subtle.

Thanks for stopping by!
