Masculine hang in there!

Hello! Here is the final sketch for 2012 at SCS for Viva la Verve.

Stamps are from Verve -  the small pennant outline and sentiment, plus the die used to cut it out. The thin and longer fishtail die is from MFT.

I sponged on some vintage photo distress ink onto the craft paper to grunge things up a bit and make this more manly. Designer Paper is from Hot Off The Press. Added some black pearls (why do I think of Johnny Depp every time I say that?) for a bit of interest! Savvy? OK, let me get my head out of  the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. =)

Hope you have a safe, fun and Happy New Years!

Nature - Viva la Verve week 3

Hi all! Here is the sketch from week 3 and my take on it!

Sentiment is from Verve. I decided to use an oval since it fit the sentiment a lot better.

The green back ground is done with Alcohol inks, simple solution and a piece of printer paper. I put a small amount of the simple solution into a container, then add in the alcohol inks until I get the color I want. I used a foam brush to paint the solution onto the crumbled up printer paper and then let dry.

Fern stamps in the back ground are from Verve, as well. Butterfly is two dies used together from Memory Box. The solid color of the butterfly and the panel with the ribbon on it are from HOTP, it's a subtle yellow, believe it or not! :-)

Thanks for dropping by!

Viva la Verve December challenges

Hi everyone! I had a chance to play in the challenges over at SCS for Verve. Here are the sketches for weeks 1 & 2.

Here is what I did with them.

Stamps from Verve. The stars are colored with a yellow stardust gel pen. Designer paper is from Making Memories and the pearls from Kaisercraft. Sponged on some yellow ink (Studio G) around the sentiment panel so that it would stand out a bit more.

Again, stamps are from Verve. Cupcake is stamped with Studio G chalk ink. Polka dot paper is from PTI and the pink DP is from TAC. Pink rhinestones were added for a bit of bling! I really like how this color combo turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!

White on White PTI blog hop

Hi everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas with family and friends! Here is my take on the PTI blog hop challenge this month - White on White. I did add a pop of color!

I used the stamp set Wishing You from PTI to create this wedding card. Which will come in handy in May when I have a wedding to attend.

I stamped the tulip and its stem in chalk ink from Studio G. Sentiment is stamped in Archival ink. Dies that were used on this card are: Banner from MFT and the mat stack is from PTI which I layered using a soft yellow cardstock from Bazzill.

The lattice embossing folder was used as texture and I punched out the corners using the ticket punch to sort of match up with the mat stack die. White pearls added in the corners and the white satin bow was tied using the bow easy.

Thanks for stopping by - what do you think of my White on White card? Love to hear your feedback!

Snowflakes - another case

Hello all! Here's another card that I cased off of Pinterest! What I don't like about this, is that you cannot mail them due to the big bow! So, these babies get hand delivered.

Snow flake stamp is a very old one from Provo Craft and I stamped it in Fresh snow Palette ink. Sentiment is from PTI and stamped in Archival Jet Black ink.

The bow is tied using the bow easy. I've had this ribbon in my stash for years and finally got to use it!

I finally got a picture of the sugar cookies that I made. They turned out pretty good and I learned a lot about Royal Icing and using decorator bags! What a flippin mess I made!

My dh says that my snowflakes look like they have chicken feet. LOL!

Trio in red

Hi everyone! I got a chance to play with this Mojo Monday's sketch challenge. Here's the sketch.

I deleted a few layers and kept it very clean and simple.

Flower stamp is from Verve. I used Marvy Wet Looks embossing markers and colored directly on the stamp. Doing the huff method, I stamped it onto glossy cardstock that had already been cut out into the squares. The die is from PTI, and then I used a square nestie to layer the red onto them after I had rounded the corners off.

The Verve Sentiment is stamped in Ranger Archival Jet Black ink and I used pure poppy satin ribbon between. Yellow self adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft are added to the center of the flowers.

Thanks for dropping by!

Cased Presents

Hi everyone! I'm pausing to do this blog post in the middle of making sugar cookies. I'm going to attempt to frost them this year with Royal icing using decorator bags and all. If they work out, I'll post some pictures later. In the meantime here is another Christmas card............

I cased this off of Pinterest. The bows are a Memory Box die. I used a small square nesties die to cut out the designer paper (which is from all my Christmas paper scraps) and then cut out the bows using coordinating cardstock. It looks like most of the paper is from Memory Box.

I used the Swiss dots embossing folder for the back ground and then the larger snowflake one to back the presents. Scarlett jewel cardstock is used to layer.

Thanks for stopping by! Back to rolling out dough!

Santa

Hi everyone! Today's Christmas card is a very traditional one.

The Santa stamp is from Victorine Originals. I stamped him in Versamark and then used gold embossing powder and heat embossed.

The designer paper is from Memory Box and layered with Scarlett Jewel cardstock from PTI. I added some Burgundy ribbon from RABOM and called it good.

Thanks for dropping by!

Snowflake

Hello! I'll be sharing a few Christmas cards this week as we get closer to the big day!

This one is a Clean and Simple card. I made of few of these to send out this year as they were quick and easy to make. This is actually a design I cased from a card I saw on Pinterest.

Using kraft cardstock I punched out the snowflake using the EK Success punch. I backed it with pure poppy polka dot designer paper and then layered it onto a base of pure poppy cardstock. Satin ribbon was attached prior to taping it down.

Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink as is all the ribbon and cardstock.

Glad Tidings

Hi everyone! I've saved a lot of really cool Christmas cards from Pinterest to case this season. Here is one of them.

White cardstock is from PTI and embossed with the holly themed embossing folder from Cuttlebug. It's the 5 x 7 one. Labels 4 and one of the fancy tags are used to frame up the wonderful sprig of fir stamp from Victorine Originals. Sentiment stamp is from Verve.

I finally used some of the red velvet ribbon I've been hoarding! White pearls are from Kaisercraft. Copic's used to color the fir sprig.

Mr & Mrs Snowman

Greetings everyone! I hope this finds you all doing well as Christmas approaches! I have yet to finish my shopping or mail out my cards! Ack! Here's one of my favorites, though!

Stamp is from Whippersnapper. I stamped it in Memento and then colored with Prisma Colored pencils and blended it with OMS. I haven't used this coloring technique in a long time and had fun with it!

I layered it with pure poppy cardstock onto a white card base. Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

I ♥ you

Hello everyone! I found some inspiration this morning and completed this weeks Mojo Monday sketch!  Here's the sketch.

Here is what I did with it. I got tired of making Christmas cards and went with Valentines Day instead. I guess the hearts in the sketch worked for me today!

Designer paper is from My minds eye and the scallop die used is from Lifestyle Crafts. Same with the bigger hearts, but the little ones are from Verve! Red cardstock and ribbon are pure poppy from PTI.

Stamps are from The Paper Studio that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. Ink is from MFT. Red pearls are added to highlight the scallops and are from Queen and Company.

 Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks a bunch

Hi everyone! Sorry for being slow to post this last week, I've gotten some kind of virus and can't seem to breathe - and to top it off I got it from my boss when she was in town last week! Go Figure!

I thought I'd post a regular card this week to give everyone a break from all the Christmas cards.

Flower stamp is from Memory Box and colored with Copic's. I added some white pearls for the center of the flowers. I cut it out using one of my numerous tag dies.

The green is vellum that has been ran through the lattice embossing folder and then torn on the edge. Sentiment stamp is from Verve. I colored a white satin ribbon the same color as the flowers using Copic markers and tied onto the tag. It's also popped up using foam tape.

Thanks for stopping in!

Red mittens

Hi everyone!
I made this card over the last few days and it went well with the sketch challenge over at The house that stamps built. I made it with a circle as the focal point instead of a square.

Stamp is from Verve and colored with Copic's. The small snowflake in the middle of each mitten is an old TAC stamp that I conjured up and stamped in fresh snow ink.

Designer paper is from Memory Box and I sponged some Jardin Moss ink from Palette around the edges. Bow die is from MFT.

Branches

Hello!  Hope this finds everyone doing well! I have a Holiday card to share today!

Pine needle stamp is from Great Impressions and stamped in Palette Jardin Moss. The red berries is a clear stamp from the Lovely Leaves stamp set from Papertrey, Ink. Sentiment is also from Papertrey.

I stamped everything onto vintage cream cardstock and then dusted it with vintage photo distress ink using a stipple brush. Red pearls from Kaiser craft added to the right hand bottom corner to add a bit of interest to the card.

Chicken soup?

Hi everyone! Here's another get well card for my Christmas giving. I improvised a bit with this one (tongue in cheek), but I thought it turned out pretty cute.

Chicken is from Victorine Originals and the soup bowl and sentiment are from Lawn Fawn. Colored with Copic's and then cut out with dies from Spellbinders and Verve (sentiment).

Yellow and blue cardstock are from Bazzill and the blue gingham is from A*Muse.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday sketch x2

Hi everyone! I'm not a person who goes out and does the Black Friday shopping madness. I don't have the patience! So, I bought a few things off of the internet while in my jammies and a cup full of coffee by my side. I also got a chance to play with #268 Mojo Monday sketch! I actually have two versions to show you.

The first one is not as embellished as the one below.

I'm thinking I like the embellished version better, but what do you think?

Designer paper is from K&Company and the lime green and blue cardstock is from HOTP. I used a b it of navy ink and a sponge dauber to add a little distressing around the striped dp. The star is cut out using the verve die and then glittered up. Once it dried I used some foam tape to pop it onto the end of the sentiment banner.

The stars are metal with double back foam tape attached and come from Momenta that I picked up at Michael's. I actually bought it because of the snowflakes in the package, not the stars.

Soft and Subtle

Hi everyone! Here's a card I completed for this weeks sketch challenge over at Split Coast Stampers.

Tree stamp is from TAC and stamped in a light gray ink in the back from Studio G which created a shadow effect. Then I used a darker gray in the front from Memento. The front trees almost look like blue spruce trees.

Next I sponged on some summer sky blue ink with a dauber and then used the dot stubby stick from Stamps By Judith to stamp the snow in white ink from Colorbox. You'll have to click on the picture to make it larger to see the effect.

Designer paper is from Memory Box and the light gray/green cardstock is from American Crafts.  Sentiment stamp is from Studio G. Square and long rectangle nesties used to cut out the main image and the sentiment panel.

Happy Thanksgiving card

Hello! Here's a Thanksgiving card I made for the fun of it.

It's rather boring...but thought I'd post it anyway. The stamps are from Studio G and the turkey is colored with Copic's.

Cardstock is from Papertrey, Ink except for the yellow which is from American Crafts. The scalloped die is from Quickutz. Brown gingham ribbon finishes this off.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and loved ones!

CAS embossed snowflake

Hi everyone! I've got a very clean and simple card to show you today!

I used the snowflake embossing folder from Provo Craft and embossed it in the center of some thick white cardstock. Layered it with pure poppy cardstock and then mounted it onto a kraft card base.

Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

I think this took me about 5 minutes to make and it would be wonderfully easy to mass produce these for my Christmas cards this year. But, I tend to make individual cards for the people I send out cards to. Do you do the same?

Masculine Get Well

Hello everyone! Here's another get well card, but this one was done with a masculine twist.

Stamps are from Lawn Fawn (without the smiley faces). I colored the Bandaid with Copic markers and cut it out using a long rectangle nestie.

The designer paper is from DCWV from the once upon a time paper pack. I purposely mounted it off center from the black layer to add a bit of interest to the card. I debated whether or not to add the grosgrain ribbon but decided it needed a bit of something so went with it.

Thanks for stopping by!
