Love in violet

Hello everyone! I haven't played with this set from The Angel Company (Fanciful Vintage) in a while and thought I do something up for either a wedding, anniversary or Valentines Day card. Which one should it be?

The frame is stamped in Versamagic spring pansy and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Which you really can't see or tell in th photo. The Love sentiment is not embossed.

To create the back ground, I randomly stamped the flower stamp in the same ink. Then layered them all with cardstock that is in one the caboodles paper pack. I can't remember which one, since I took them all out of the packs.

The satin ribbon is died using a Copic marker then tied with the bow easy.

It's funny, I was reading a thread over on SCS about what color people are allergic to. So many said purple. I like working with purple, however it is hard to photograph.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!

You're the best

Hey everyone! Here's a card I put together using digi images from Digi Design House. Link on sidebar.
Printed on Neenah Solar White classic and colored with Copic markers. Bazzill lime green cardstock used to layer the main image and as the back panel. Decided to use some black cardstock to frame up the image and make it pop. Love how it looks, but what do you think?

The sentiment is from The Angel Company set called Just Bee-Cuz.

Short post today - need to clean up the mess I made in the studio! Today was productive though, ended up completing four cards!

Sweet peas

Hello everyone! Here's a Digi stamp from Sketching Stamper Digi Stamps that I just adore! The Mojo Monday sketch challenge was perfect for this!

I colored the sweet peas with cream chalks from Pebbles. The designer paper is from the Gossamer pack from Memory Box. Wonderful soft papers in this line!

The sentiment is Ashley's Blossoms from My cute stamps. Stamped in Palette Noir and cut out using the long rectangle nestie die. I used some Burnt Sienna Palette ink to sponge around the edges. A memo pin from the Idea-ology line from Tim Holtz was used to tuck it into the back ground panel.

The Grosgrain ribbon is Scarlet Jewel from PTI and matched the caradstock (American Crafts) that I used to matt the dp.

My plan is to use this as an anniversary card! What do you think?

Have a wonderful creative day and thanks for stopping by!

Lean on me

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their weekend! Here's a card done with the final January Viva la Verve sketch over at SCS.

Stamps are from the Wordy Birds set from Verve and colored with Copic markers in the following colors. B00, B02, YR07. I hand drew in the birds feet so that it appeared that one bird is leaning (or standing) on the other.

Designer paper is from Basic Grey and layered with black cardstock. The scallops on the bottom are cut with the Quikutz cookie cutter die.

I tied the bow with the bow easy, except it wasn't easy! Tied it three times before I was satisfied with how it looked.

I'm going to attempt to de-clutter the crap, I mean craft/office today. It's outta control!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

CAS masculine card

Hello! This is a card I made last night for the sketch challenge over at SCS. I kept it clean and simple so that a man would like it! You know how hard that can be sometimes!

The tree stamp is from Savvy stamps and its stamped in Palette fresh snow ink on the kraft cardstock. The sentiment is from the Around and About set from PTI and stamped on a window word punch. I sponged around it with the white ink and popped it up with foam tape so it would stand out from the main panel.

Designer paper is from Hot Off The Press and layered with green cardstock from Bazzill.

So what do you think? Will this be a good one for a guy?

Trio of hearts

Hey everyone! Here's a Valentine's day card I created using the Mojo Monday #174 sketch.

The designer paper is from Making Memories. The light pink dp panel in the back was ran through the Textile embossing folder.

The big heart is chipboard covered in designer paper from over a year ago that I've had lying in wait for me to do something with. It's kind of a big button, which is why I tied a piece of black cording through the holes.

The two smaller hearts are grunge board (TH collection of plain elements) colored with lipstick red Copic marker. I then stamped the swirl (TAC) and the French script (Inkadinkado) in fresh snow Palette ink over the top of them.

The sentiment comes from Papetrey Ink Sweet love set. Black grosgrain ribbon is tied into a bow with the bow easy.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you had time to be creative today!

Sometimes

Wow, the week sure went fast, as did the weekend! DH was sick yesterday and that gave me a lot of time in the studio. Here's a card I completed for the Viva La Verve weekly sketch over at SCS.
The sentiment is from Verve and stamped in Palette Noir on the white panel which is cut out of a label 17 die. The red designer paper is from Glitz paper. The black cardstock is ran through the script texture embossing folder to go with the writing in the dp.

The red rose is done using the tattered blossoms alterations die by TH with pure poppy cardstock by PTI. Using green cardstock and the Martha Stewart leaf punch I added a few leaf stems around the rose. Pure poppy grosgrain ribbon is used over the white panel.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!

Waterlilly

Hello everyone!

This image is from Digi Design House and can be found here. I fell in love with this image when I acquired an old TAC catty from 2004 and was really excited when I found it at the DDH.

I printed the image out on Neenah classic solar white and colored with Copic's. The water and sky are done with chalks to achieve a softer look and to let the lilly sand out. A stardust pen is used to color the dragonfly's wings.

Designer paper is from TAC called Lilly Anna. DDH is having a Dream Team Call, so here's your chance to enter! Check the link above to get more information.

Have a creative weekend!

Hanging basket

Hello everyone. Here's a digi (or line art) that I got off of the Gooseberry Patch blog.

It immediately caught my eye and I wanted to see if I could do it justice with Copic's. It was a challenge getting those tiny flowers colored in! Labels 1 used to cut the image out and the tag at the bottom is also from Spellbinders.

Sentiment is from The Angel Company. I also used the brick embossing folder from Tim Holtz on the gray cardstock, which is kind of hard to see. Brown gingham ribbon and gold pearls tie the tag together at the bottom of the card.

Thanks for dropping in and grab whatever time you have to be creative today!

Victorine Originals Challenge #5 - Tag it

Hello everyone! Today begins a new challenge over at Victorine Originals blog with a chance to win some new stamps! The challenge is Tag it! The designers were to come up with a card, tag or project that incorporated a tag. Here is my card.

The tag is cut using the Quickutz die template with white cardstock and layered in black. The die includes different cut options for covering the hole. I chose to cut it out of red cardstock and tied on a white and red polka dot satin ribbon.

The red heart is grunge board from one of the Tim Holtz collections that I colored red with my Copic markers. I stamped some white (Palette fresh snow) distressed dots from Savvy Stamps and attached it to the tag.

The sentiment is from Victorine Originals and stamped in Palette Noir then cut out using the long rectangle die from Spellbinders. The scalloped die was used on the black cardstock to layer it.

Designer paper is from my "I have no clue who made it" stash.

Please drop by VO's blog (link in side bar) to see what the rest of the designers came up with and get inspired to play along for a chance to win. Thanks for stopping by!

From the Heart blog hop

Hello everyone! I decided to participate in this blog hop at the last minute. So without further ado here is my entry.

Heart stamp is from the Garden Joy set from The Angel Company. I colored them with Gel and stardust pens and then sponged on some blue ink to look of the sky.

I kept this very clean and simple, no embellishments or ribbons. Which is a break for me, usually there is always a pearl or three and ribbons on my cards.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look! Have a creative day!

Wishing

Good morning! Here's another card that I completed for the Viva la Verve challenge. Love this sketch! I turned it sideways to be different.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my take on it!

Sentiment is from Verve and the cone flower is a digital image that was colored with Copic's. The purple designer paper is from Hot Off The Press.

White cardstock is Neenah solar white and the black cardstock comes from Papertrey Ink. Black grosgrain ribbon is used to make the bow.

I really like how this turned out! What do you think? Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Out on a limb

Hello! Here's a card I completed for the Wednesday sketch challenge over at SCS. This is a great sketch with so many possibilities!

The branch stamp is from Memory Box. I colored it with Marvy Le Plume markers and huffed on it. Loved how it turned out on the ivory cardstock.

The black bird (raven or crow) is cut out from the Martha Stewart bird border punch. I punched a strip out and using sharp pointed scissors cut out two birds. One is directly glued to the paper and the other is popped up with foam tape.

The wood strip on the left side is actually real wood, its Asian cedar that is cut very thin. The green designer paper is hand made Washi paper that I got from a craft show a while ago. Dark brown cardstock is from American Crafts and the gold pearls are from the reflection line from M's.

At the last minute I decided to stamp the inside of the card to continue the theme. Again, it turned out pretty cool! What do you think?

Heart of blue

Hi everyone! Here's my card for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch. I almost titled this the "two hour tour" (for those of you who grew up watching Gilligan's Island...giggle, missing an hour but it felt like three!) because this card took me two hours to make! I should have just given up!

It went something like this (pretend you're reading my mind):

*I like this flower stamp, lets color it with Copic's. Didn't like the look of it, shading is terrible in these pinks. Threw that flower in the recycle bin.

*Let's see, how about stamping the flower in white on red cardstock? That turned out a bit dull. How about embossing it with white embossing powder. Ok, that looks good. Where's all my red designer paper? (That started a search and destroy mission through all the paper - nothing was working with that shade of red cardstock.) UGH!

*Wow, I like this blue paper. I know, let me re-stamp the flower in blue. Shoot (or insert your favorite expletive) the blue ink doesn't go with the blue designer paper! Again another expletive!

*What about that other designer paper? Yes, now we're getting somewhere! But it doesn't really go with the flower now. Hmmm, the paper has hearts in it! I know just the stamp I want to use! Where is that stamp set? Darn it, where is that set? Oh, what's this? I like this one even better!

*Oh, and I know just the embellishments to go along with this blue now! Cool! Yes, finally done!

Whew that only took two hours. How do I know? I came up stairs to the craft room at 8 and had to be back downstairs at 10 to watch the new episode of Castle! =)

So, here is the final result!

Heart stamp is a retired GWP stamp from The Angel Company. Stamped in Midnight ink from Colorbox and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Designer paper is from Hot Off The Press. Navy cardstock from DCWV. The lacy doily like layer behind the heart was done with self adhesive Vellum (left the adhesive on) that was ran through the Textile embossing folder after being cut out with a scalloped circle.

White grosgrain ribbon is layered on using foam tape and a blue button from American Crafts is attached with some white scrappers floss. The blue pearls are from Kaisercraft.

So, have you ever had one of these experiences making a card or project? I have them all the time! Sometimes what you have pictured in your head just doesn't make it onto the final project for whatever reason! However, during this two hour adventure I had a lot of fun (and frustrations for being such a perfectionist) and now have a few flowers pre-stamped for use on another card!

Have a creative day!

Nature

Hello all and Happy New Year!

Here's a card I did for the Viva la Verve January sketch challenge week #1 over on SCS.

Stamps are from Verve and the butterfly is colored with Copic's. Striped designer paper is from Making Memories, Sydney 8x8 pad, which I think is no longer available - sniff! The yellow cardstock was embossed using the swiss dots embossing folder (on the left) and the other one was done with the linen texture plate from Papertrey ink. You can't see it the picture, but in real life it gave it a subtle texture that's really cool looking.

I layered all the yellows against a black back ground which went with the butterfly. The butterfly was cut out and popped up on the card using foam tape. Black grosgrain ribbon is added behind the sentiment and lastly three black rhinestones on the second panel complete the card. This is a legal sized card, by the way.

I hope everyone is staying on track with their New Years Resolutions so far...mine, well I haven't even started yet! But will triumph in the end! I just have to get rid of all this clutter! =)
