A few cards to share

Hi everyone!
I'm still in Alaska and enjoying the sunny warm weather! As promised, here are a few cards that I've recently done.

This cupcake was colored with Copic markers. I used the scalloped square nesties to cut out the red square and added some white polka dots around the scallops with a sharpie poster pen. The card measures 5 x 5.

This one uses up some retired Khamalot paper from TAC. The sunflower is colored with Copic's, cut out and popped up inside the tag. I used the MS doily border punch in tan and brown to add some detail behind the tag.

And lastly, this one is done with versamark and gold embossing powder on black and white card stock! I did use some gold metallic paper to layer the white onto. IRL this is just very classy looking and perfect for an anniversary card.

All stamps are from The Angel Company.

Have a great weekend!

Alaska Photo's

Greetings from Alaska! Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure! The weather here is absolutely gorgeous! 60 Degree's and sunny! It's better here than back home!
This is the Kenai River in Soldotna. As you can see the ice is still melting - the locals here call this "break up". You can see little iceburgs floating and melting all over the place.

This picture is taken in Kenai, looking back towards Soldotna. Huge mountains overlooking all the fishing boats!

This is in Palmer, which is an hour away from Anchorage!

And this one is also in Palmer! All you could see today was miles of snow covered mountains! It was so clear and beautiful! Spring fever has hit up here - so many people out on motorcylces and bikes!

I did bring some stamping projects with me that I uploaded onto my flash drive that I will share with you all later! Until then - have a great day!

Card Sketch Tuesday #126

It's card sketch Tuesday and I'm currently in the great State of Alaska on business. I taking my camera along with me hoping to get some great pictures to share with everyone. It's suppose to rain all week that I'm here, however I hope that it's like Washington, wait five minutes and it'll change!

This week sketch is easy peasy - but great for some simple stamped images and some yummy designer paper!
I got out some of my TAC dp that I initially got with my starter kit when I signed up to be an Angel.

I layered it with matching card stock and I just had to be different and mix up the colors. After all it is spring!

The daisy in the vase is from the new Serendipity magalogue - from the set Garden Joy. I just loved the simplicity of the little stamp. It's stamped in Palette noir and colored with copic's and I also added some crystal lacquer to the vase to act as water. The small gold beads were something that I picked up at Michael's a while ago. I love these - several different sizes and they're self adhesive. They add just the right touch of embellishment when you need it!

I hope you play along on this sketch! Have a great day!

To you from me!

I got some new stamps! They're from American Crafts - clear stamps and sooo cute! Here's my first card using some of the images from their sentiment set.

I stamped the leaf stem in Memories Pistachio chalk ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder (this chalk ink takes forever to dry). The sentiment is also stamped on ivory card stock and embossed. I layered the images in olive green and black and placed them on the designer paper (crafters workshop) that I had added to the ivory card base. The scalloped circles are cut using nestabilities.

Anyway, just playing around with the new sets and this card actually came out fairly quickly.

Have a super weekend!

Pretty in Pink

Hey everyone! Here is my latest card for the SCS sketch challenge. I so struggled with this one! Those darn panels in the back ground gave me such fits last night! AND I had trouble with my main stamped image - the ink kept smearing!

I really got frustrated with the ink. I was coloring with my copic blender pen, which is like bleach...so you get the picture - smears, bleeding, etc. I tried Palette Noir first, nope didn't work. Tried Memento - nope bled through too. I think I threw three images away before I just decided to use clear embossing powder to lock down the lines. Bingo! Here's the result, which took way too long to complete! LOL!

Supplies:

  • Stamp - Inkadinkado
  • Palette true black ink
  • Paper - DCWV luxury stack
  • Black card stock
  • Pure luxury card stock
  • Black Rhinestones by Kaiser Craft

Sometimes, no matter how much trouble you're having on a card, you just need to grit your teeth and stick with it! I'm glad I stuck with this one! Have a great week!

Card Sketch Tuesday #125

Happy Tuesday! Here is sketch #125, measuring the normal A2 size. I have two examples today using the same stamp, but in a different way.

This sketch allows you to use some of your hoarded designer paper!

The main image is from Inkadinkado clear stamps. I used markers to color and huffed to reactivate the inks. The photo is a little dark, but in real life this turned out really cool. The designer paper is K&Company and is layered in dark brown card stock. The pink cs is also from K&Company. I got those gold rhinestones from Michael's and placed some of the smaller ones in the corners after using my ticket punch on the main stamped image. I got lucky matching the grosgrain ribbon to the pink card stock!

This next one uses the same stamp and then playing around with some Flower Soft. That stuff could get to be addicting. You get a lot of it in the jar and it will last a long, long time! I got one jar of lavender and one of a mixed lot of colors. The mixed colors has mostly pinks and purples and is called "Fuchia". Check out their web site if you haven't already. They do have a short video on how to use it that was filmed at CHA in 2008.

The designer paper on this one is from Hot off the press and is layered with purple card stock. I added a length of dark purple grosgrain ribbon to the left vertical panel to be just a bit different. The sympathy tag is cut with a nestabilities die and is adhered with two lavender rhinestones. The sentiment is from The Angel Company.

Have a great week!

Hello

I hope everyone one is having a super weekend! I decided to post my example of the Limited Supplies Challenge that I did over at Paper Wings.

This wasn't too hard - all you had to do was tie some knots! A little back ground on my idea: I can not tie a normal bow for anything! It never comes out right, unless I get extremely lucky! So, I usually just tie a knot and be done with it before I get too frustrated. So, the challenge was to use knots in your ribbon in a different way.

Mine ended up being photo corners and I also used knots on the tag. I just found out that the main stamped image I used on this is retiring! sniff, sniff! I love to used markers and huff on this stamp - its such a classy stamp set that can be used for so many things!

Well, I'm off on a road trip today! Hubby wants to go check out some camping and fishing spots for our up coming trip. It's suppose to be sunny and in the high 60's here, so we need to get out and enjoy it. I'm taking my camera, so hopefully I'll get some good shots to do some scrapbooking with!

Hope the rest of your weekend is fun and relaxing!

Supplies:

  • All stamps - The Angel Company
  • Paper - white card stock, pink card stock by Bazzill, pink designer paper - Genevieve by TAC
  • Pink gingham ribbon

Geraniums

Hi everyone! I just got done participating in the SCS sketch challenge again! Can you tell I'm addicted to sketches? I just really enjoy the challenge of creating something from a diagram and mixing it up a bit to fit the stamp image! Anyway......

Here's this weeks sketch results, which worked really well for this stamp I just got. I had already completed one card and mailed it off for someone's birthday.

The geranium is colored with Copic Ciao markers. The green houndstooth designer paper is from Making Memories. I layered it with pure poppy card stock, and added the red grosgrain ribbon, bow and button.

This next one is the first card I produced and mailed off.

No extra designer paper, just layered with pure poppy and the ribbon, bow and buttons are bigger. I'm liking this one the best, because its clean and simple looking - more classy.

This stamp is from Serendipity stamps, and they have just released their summer line. You can find them here.

This stamp reminded me of growing up - Both my Grandma and Mom always had geraniums in their flower boxes on the front porch. I've never been very fond of this flower, but it brought back some happier memories when they were both still alive. They also always had to be Martha Washington Geraniums, too. Funny what we remember and treasure, huh? So, that's my story on how I came to own this stamp.

Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful day!

Card Sketch Tuesday #124

Happy Tuesday! Here is sketch #124, measuring the normal A2 size.

I tried to get out of my recent rut on this one and tried for some diffent angles!

The pink and the green panels are actually cut the same way and layered in black card stock. I just over lapped the pink over the green.

Nestabilities were used to cut the scalloped circle and the regular circle. I colored the gerbera daisy in prismacolor pencils, lightly blended it with OMS, then went back and added further shading with the pencils. I decided to cut it out and pop it up with foam tape. Which really gave it some depth and added some shadows!

Hope you all have a super week!

Supplies:

  • Stamps - Gerbera Daisy and sentiment (retired) from The Angel Company
  • Paper - TAC - Genevieve, white and black card stock
  • Ink - Palette Noir
  • Prismacolor pencils, OMS

Happy Birthday, Cupcake!

Greetings everyone! I wanted to show you one of the new cupcake designs from the Sweet Thing set. This is one of the sets available this month - to see more click on the link on the right side bar.

I had so much fun coloring in this image using my Copic Ciao Markers. Versamark and clear embossing powder were used on the edge design to make it pop. The sentiment is a GWP from the Spring/Summer '08 catty.

This new Sweet Thing set has four different cupcake designs that have so much potential for some really cool embellishing!

Supplies:

  • Stamps - Sweet Thing, Edge Designs (serendipity magalogue) and GWP stamp all from TAC
  • Ink - Palette Noir
  • Ribbon - Brown satin from TAC
  • Paper - White card stock, light brown and dark brown card stock from TAC

Have a fantastic day!

Easter cards

Hey everyone! With Easter right around the corner, I thought I'd post a few of the Easter bunny cards that I've done!
This bunny is from a retired set from the Angel Company! He is stamped in burnt umber, cut out using my rectangle nestabilities, and then layered with dark brown card stock from DCWV. The border punch is from fiskars and I added some miscellaneous ribbon to the card from my ribbon stash. Basically a Clean and Simple card.
This little guy is colored with prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. He is from the I love Easter set from TAC. The designer paper is from Making Memories, yellow cs is DCWV and I added a sentiment tab with yellow brads to the bottom right hand corner.

I also colored this one with prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. It's also from the I love Easter set from TAC. This is one stamp that you just can not resist adding some fluff to his tail!

I used a cotton ball on mine, not all of it, just bits and pieces and then glued it on. The swiss dots embossing folder is used for the right hand panel and I added a big red ribbon to match the flowers.

I hope everyone has a great Easter! AND....Please don't eat the ears off the chocolate bunnies, this year be different and start at the bottom! =)

Butterfly Dreams

Hello everyone! I just finished this sketch challenge from SCS last evening, but ran out of time to post it here.

I stamped the butterfly twice and colored it with prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. Then one of them was cut out and popped up on foam tape for some added dimension. The leaf design paper is from Provo Craft that I've had in my stash forever and worked really well with this sketch. I also decided not to add any further embellishments and kept this clean and simple.

Supplies:

  • Stamps - The Angel Company, Flutter by and the sentiment is from the My life set
  • Ink - palette Noir
  • White card stock, olive green card stock
  • Yellow and leaf designer paper from Provo Craft

Have a fantastic day!!!

Card Sketch Tuesday #123

Wow - is it Tuesday already??? The weather in the pacific northwest has been so sunny and beautiful that I've lost track of time! I'm hoping spring is here to stay!

Card measures the normal A2 size. The square is intended to be an accent piece - patterned paper, etc. The tilted rectangle is supposed to be your main image - but I can also see some cute stamping on that back panel in my future!

I left mine white and added some black dots to coordinate with the main image. The main image is done with markers and huffing - the stamp has lines for journaling in the middle - which I didn't want. So, I just didn't color them in with my marker.

Once I had the tag stamped, I masked it off with post it notes and stamped the leaf stems in the middle. The little senitment fits just perfect in that circle! I thought the little tag just needed a ribbon for that finishing tough! The green satin in stapled on right on top of the circle.

Have a super week!

Supplies:

  • Stamps - Memo fun, Tag Tid Bits, Deco Designs from The Angle Company
  • Ink - Palette Jardin Moss
  • Black markers
  • Green satin ribbon (TAC)
  • Card stock - Greens from different TAC paper packs

Black and White

Hi all! The Angel Company just posted some free down loadable papers on their web site. I printed them up on card stock and made three quick cards with them. These are great black and white papers that are very versatile!

I added some black polka dots to the white brad with a black glaze gel pen.

The above card is cut on an angle, scored and folded to be just a bit different! I had a lot of fun adding all those layers to this card. The stamp is a GWP and I used the white souffle gel pen to add the dots around the scallops.

On this one, I aded a strip of diamonds to the left side. It's stamped with chalk white ink, then layered with white card stock. All stamps are from The Angel Company!
